It was the peak of summer in Morayfield. Days were feeling sluggish, and anyone you’d pass on the street would have glossy, pink faces. No one looked comfortable, I don’t blame, the weather was insanely unbearable. Even basic tasks were an absolute nightmare. I couldn’t even enjoy driving. My car felt like a sweatbox, despite my air conditioning running on full blast. Something had to have been wrong with my aircon. My face was dripping with sweat, and not even a rolled down window could help. I knew it was time to take my car to the mechanic.
I made an appointment with the most recommended mechanic. Morayfield residents love him! He’s always honest, efficient, and always does his best to try to keep prices low. He’s everything anyone would want in a mechanic.
I arrived at his garage feeling sweaty, dishevelled and gross, but I knew he wasn’t judging me. He made a quick witty remark about the weather we’d been having lately. Usually jokes like that would irk me, but coming from him, it was really reassuring. It was always rather amusing to me that despite being such a gentle and kind soul, this mechanic was a big burly man who looked like he could fight a bear.
Within seconds of inspecting my car, he was able to rule that there were many signs my car needs an aircon regas. I trust his judgement on this and told him to do what he needs to do to get my car air conditioning back in working order. I watched him as he drained the old refrigerant, vacuumed the system, and then refilled it with a new refrigerant. I’d have no idea where to begin in this process if someone asked me to do it, so I’m glad I can palm it off to someone else. He asked me to join him in testing the system. As the cold air started blowing out of the vents, I instantly felt refreshed. It’s amazing how a few simple steps could make an air conditioner as good as new again.
